My website
Its on my cards but I should make this post to say that my website is www.paulmitchdesign.com Its not totaly the way I want it yet but the basics are working. Indexhibit was a pain to get up and running but I managed to do it on my own and now its installed on my hosted space its actually really easy to add content and change things. I had to see the FAQ to get my logo in the top left because oddly this isnt a standard option. With the extra time I will have after hand in I will really get to grips with making this a useful promotional tool.

Cards have arrived!
At last, they came this morning,
They look good as well really pleased with the quality. The only slight issue is because they are matt laminated, they look like you should be able to write on them but the pen ink wipes straight off. Next time I might go with an uncoated stock, but these will be great for the show because they feel nice and are virtually indestructible!

cards and invoice
My own cards and invoice. The cards were sent to print over two weeks back so hopefully they well come back soon. The design uses a QR code that can be scanned by a mobile phone and will add my contact details to the phone. I hesitated about using this as it dominates the graphics but I have had positive feedback from people I have shown this to so far. These are growing in popularity and i'm not the first to use these on business cards but its still fairly uncommon so should get me noticed. I think using QR codes might quickly become passé, so best to milk them while they are still fresh I think.
Also, its not just iphones that can use these, android phones, blackberry and even my cheap pay-as-you-go Nokia can scan it so I would say at least 50% of phones should.

cards still to come!
I ordered these on the 8th so its been a long wait but hopefully they will come intime for submission. So far all I have is a proof, not even a very high quality proof, I just hope they come back good.

new logo
I wasnt really happy with the logo I made at the start of the year, it just didnt set very will on cards and stationary and didnt really reflect the design I have been doing more recently. Also as my website is now paulmitchdesigm.com the old logo using just a 'PM' wont work well for this.
This is a new one I am developing, I want to keep it typographic and minimal, as most of my designs are heading in this direction now.

Now on the creative review website
The work I was a part of at Magpie has now made it on the Creative Review website! not a bad effort.
The link to Vimeo is a sting I recut from vox pop style responses, with motion graphic titles and animation I created. Alex from magpie reminded me the other week that it was me that came up with the 'what the flock' name as well, so I really feel proud I was a big part of this.

A few links to live work
I did quite a bit of sheep based motion graphics for a design studio here in Leeds over the summer, and as this is now live I will post up some links
These were all animated in after effects from vectors graphics made in illustrator. I also made the flash graphics for the teaser site www.whattheflock.org.uk which will be live until the main site launch on the 10th October
